What We Believe

We believe that the inerrant Word of God is the only source for Biblical truth

Scriptures

We believe that the Bible was written by men who were moved and inspired by God. That the Bible is absolute truth without error and therefore is the only complete and final revelation of God to man.

True God

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God. God is the Creator of heaven and earth, worthy of all honor and love. Who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Ex. 20:2-3; Gen. 17:1; I Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6; John 4:24; Psa. 147:5; Psa. 83:18; Psa. 90:2; Jer. 10:10; Ex. 15:11; Rev. 4:11; I Tim. 1:17; Rom. 11:33; Mark 12:30; Matt. 28:19; John 15:26; I Cor. 12:4-6; I John 5:7; John 10:30; John 17:5; Acts 5:3-4; I Cor. 2:10-11; Phil. 2:5-6; Eph. 2:18; II Cor. 13:14.

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father, and God the Son and of the same nature. He restrains evil; He convicts of sin, of judgment, and of righteousness; He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; He is the agent in the New Birth; He seals, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.

Satan

We believe that Satan was once holy and enjoyed a place in heaven, but through pride and ambition to be as God he fell and drew after him a host of angels. He is now the prince of the power of the air, and the unholy god of this world. We hold him to be man’s great tempter, the enemy of God, the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions, and the author of all the powers of darkness. He is destined to final defeat at the hands of God’s Son and to the judgment of an eternal justice in hell, a place prepared for him and his angels.

Creation

We believe in the Genesis account of creation, and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness; that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary changes of species, or development through millions and millions of years, from lower to higher forms but instead all creation was created by God in six literal days.

Gen. 1:1; Ex. 20:11; Acts 4:24; Col. 1:16-17; Heb. 11:3; John 1:3; Rev. 10:6; Rom. 1:20; Acts 17:23-26; Jer. 10:12; Neh. 9:6; Gen. 1:26-27; Gen. 2:21-23; Gen. 1:11; Gen. 1:24.

Fall of Man

We believe that man was created perfect by God, but by choice sinned and fell from his sinless and happy state. As a result all mankind are now sinners and are under condemnation without defense or excuse.

Gen. 3:1-6, 24; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 5:19; Rom. 3:10-19; Eph. 2:1, 3; Rom. 1:18; Ezek. 18:19-20; Rom. 1:32; Rom. 1:20; Rom. 1:23; Gal. 3:22.

Virgin Birth

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner; born of a virgin and that He is the Son of God.

Gen. 3:15; Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; Mark 1:1; John 1:14; Psa. 27; Gal. 4:4; I John 5:20; I Cor. 15:47.

Atonement For Sin

We believe that the salvation of sinners is by grace through faith in the Son of God, who freely took upon Him our nature, yet without sin. By His death He made a full atonement and completely satisfied the penalty for our sin. He voluntarily substituted Himself in the sinner’s place, the Just dying for the unjust, Christ, the Lord, bearing our sins in His own body on the tree.

Eph. 2:8; Acts 15:11; Rom. 3:24; John 3:16; Matt. 18:11; Phil. 2:7; Heb. 2:14; Isa. 53:4-7; Rom. 3:25; I John 4:10; I Cor. 15:3; II Cor. 5:21; John 10:18; Phil. 2:8; Gal. 1:4; I Pet. 2:24; I Pet. 3:18; Isa. 53:11; Heb. 12:2; I Cor. 15:20; Isa. 53:12; Heb. 9:12-15; Heb. 7:25; I John 2:2.

Salvation

We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again. The new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that it is instantaneous and not a process and that in the new birth the sinner receives eternal life, the free gift from God! We believe that by God’s grace salvation is made free to all through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that it is the individual responsibility to accept the free gift from God and that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own rejection of the gospel. That accepting the Lord as Savior is confessing Him as Lord and believing that God has raised Him from the dead and when one does so God saves them immediately. This is done through the power of the Holy Spirit through faith and the grace of God!

Local Church

We believe that a local church is an organized congregation of baptized believers associated by covenant of faith and fellowship in the gospel; worshiping God; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word. That its officers are pastor and deacons, whose qualifications, claims and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures. That the true mission of the church is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men as we have opportunity. That the local church has the absolute right of self-government free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations. That the one and only head of the church is Jesus Christ. In order to be obedient to Scripture regarding purity, the church is charged to exercise discipline on its members when they behave in an unbiblical, disorderly manner. All discipline is to be done in love with a view to repentance on the part of the offender and his full restoration to Christian fellowship.

Baptism & Communion

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost with the authority of the local church to publicly testify our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior. That it is prerequisite to membership in a local church and to the Lord’s Supper in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of bread and fruit of the vine, are to commemorate together what Christ has done for us, preceded always by solemn self-examination.

Resurrection & Return of Christ

We believe that Christ rose bodily “the third day according to the Scriptures,” that He ascended “to the right hand of the throne of God,” that He alone is our “merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God,” “that this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven”-bodily, personally and visibly; that the “dead in Christ shall rise first;” that the living saints “shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump.” We believe in a Pre-Tribulation rapture of the church and Pre-Millennial return of Christ.  “Christ shall reign a thousand years in righteousness until He hath put all enemies under His feet.”

Missions

We believe the great commission given in Matt. 28 is the primary responsibility of the local church. As such we believe supporting missionaries to the uttermost parts of the world should be a priority of the local church. This is done by way of faith promise giving and supporting missionaries both financially and through prayer. Every individual believer will be blessed by God when they take part in supporting missionaries.
